Megan Millmann has always been a faithful fan of the Minnesota Twins.  In fact, she’s never once missed attending opening day with her family – until the year she had to go to chemotherapy instead of going to the ballpark.

Diagnosed with leukemia at age 16, her parents weren’t sure if she’d even make it to see another opening day. Megan fought hard, though, and is now happy to say she has beat cancer.

The Courage For Life Foundation helped her to celebrate her victory by sending Megan and her family to attend spring training for the Twins in Fort Myers, Florida.  After some pampering, rest, and presents (courtesy of CFL), Megan and her family were able to meet many of the players and received a very unexpected surprise.  “Joe Mauer is amazing,” said Megan. “I got a picture and a kiss!”

The Millmanns’s had a wonderful trip, making memories to last a lifetime, and Megan’s future now looks as bright as the Florida sun.
